Zachry Group is currently looking for Electrical Engineers to work in our Engineering Design Centers. We are looking for a range of qualifications ranging from entry level graduate engineers to experienced engineers seasoned in the Industrial Construction and Services industry. 

Position Summary

Electrical Engineers will work in the assigned design centers or at a given project with in the Zachry Group organizations. Electrical Engineers will work on an array of functions to include but not limited to the designing of electrical systems with in an industrial plant, design schematics for systems and equipment, perform quality checks and audits on existing electrical systems and equipment, perform reliability services, work with procurement in establishing standards and specifications for acceptable electrical equipment and components, and oversee and quality check new systems and equipment as it is installed.

Position Highlights

  • Must have a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering;
  • Will work on planning, design, procurement, and installation oversight of electrical systems, equipment, and components;
  • Experience working as and engineer in the Industrial Construction/Services Industry is a plus.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform Electrical Engineering duties in planning, designing, and overseeing electric power generation, transition, and distribution of  electric energy and develop electrical products used for communication and automated operations
  • Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain electrical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet industry requirements applying knowledge of engineering principles
  • Perform detailed calculations to develop, construct, and install system components to industry standards and specifications
  • Analyze customer needs and determine electrical system requirements, capacity, and cost to develop a system plan
  • Investigate complaints from customers or the public, evaluate problems, and recommend solutions
  • Evaluate systems and recommend design modifications or equipment repairs
  • Inspect electronic equipment, instruments, and systems to make sure they meet safety standards and applicable regulations
  • Plan and develop applications and modifications for electronic properties used in parts and systems to improve technical performance
  • Present technical information to peers or other personnel for review, to implement operating procedures, and resolve system malfunctions.
  • Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications
  • Provide specific to discipline technical expertise to the degree of preparing and providing training for other personnel; both within the company and for the customer. 



Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or other related field

  • Proficient  with Electric Engineering Computer Software

Preferred Qualifications

  •  Former Zachry Employee
  •  Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related field
  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • Experience in the industry

Reporting to This Position

This position will not have any direct reports.

Physical Requirements

Physical demands:

  • Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat and software systems. 
  • Position will include visits to construction sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and work boots.

 Work environment:

  •  Employee will work in multiple environments including an office, warehouse, and trailer or building on construction sites.
  • On construction sites, noise levels will be moderate to high.  Job site will contain: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling and talking, bells, whistles and alarms.
