POSITION SUMMARY:  We are currently looking for a talented Sr. I&C Engineer to join our talented Instrumentation and Controls Department in Hammond, Indiana.  This is a great opportunity to get involved with exciting and challenging projects with long lasting customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead/manage instrumentation project teams of engineers and designers.
• Specify and check other engineers work in all types of instruments, process control, causeand effect matrix, SIS systems, instrument index and instulation details.
• Assist process engineering is the development of P&IDs.
• Being capable of conceptual, FEED and detailed engineering in all aspects of instrumentation and controls engineering.
• Responsible for the development of instrumentation engineering schedule, development of resource plans, development of instrument engineering estimates and adherence to assigned project budgets.
• Project engineering/Project Management experience a plus.
• Must be open to field work and project required travel.

REQUIREMENTS:
• 10+ years of experience with at least 5 years in refining/chemical industries.
• BSEE or BSChE required
• Must be available for field work which involves travel to industrial sites where climbing, working in tight and high places is required. 
• Must have experience in a leadership role in an engineering team with multiple engineers and designers.
• Position requires strong background in instrumentation project development, conceptual design, instrument engineering team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Project engineering/Project Management experience a plus.
• Must be open to field work and project required travel.
• Effective research skills, analytical and creative problem solving skills, questioning and feedback skills, project and time management skills.
• Ability to deal with conflicting priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to independently organize and prioritize work assignments. 
• Strong management skills with the ability to mentor, lead, train and motivate employees to produce quality work.  Strive to achieve successful results as a team.
• Coordinate a variety of tasks with good attention to detail.
• PE is a plus, but not required. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 
Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat and software systems. Position may include visits to construction sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hardhat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and work boots.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Employee will work in multiple environments including an office, warehouse and in a trailer or building on construction sites. On construction sites, noise levels will be moderate to high. Job sites may contain the following: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling, and talking. Noise levels vary and may include bells, whistles, and alarms.
