JOB TITLE: Lead Senior Electrical Engineer (Design Engineer II Electrical)

POSITION SUMMARY:  We are currently looking for a Lead Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical Department in St. Louis, MO office.  This is a great opportunity to get involved with exciting and challenging projects with long lasting customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Produce a complete definition of electrical requirements incorporating applicable codes and customer requirements.

  • Prepare required electrical documents for the designer, fabricator and installer.

  • Prepare single-line diagrams and electrical control schematics for motors, electric heaters.

  • Prepare area classification drawings and summaries.

  • Prepare power wiring, instrument wiring, grounding, lighting and layout drawings.

  • Prepare panel board and junction box schedules and layout drawings.

  • Prepare installation details for power system components.

  • Prepare electric trace calculations, layout drawings and isometrics.

  • Prepare electrical equipment sizing calculations for switchgear, motor control equipment, power cables etc.

  • Prepare electrical equipment requisitions and equipment cost tabulations.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • Must be a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).

  • 8 -10 years’ experience as an engineer.

  • As a registered professional engineer‎, ‎will seal and sign documentation produced by own work‎.

  • Experience working as an engineer in the Industrial Construction/Services Industry is a plus. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 15 - 20 years’ experience as an engineer.

  • Judgment and Decision Making

  • Good Communication Skills (Verbal and Written)

  • Complex Problem Solving 

  • Critical Thinking 

  • Attention to Detail

  • Strong desire to learn

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat and software systems. Position may include visits to construction sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hardhat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and work boots.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Employee will work in multiple environments including an office, warehouse and in a trailer or building on construction sites. On construction sites, noise levels will be moderate to high. Job sites may contain the following: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling, and talking. Noise levels vary and may include bells, whistles, and alarms.
