JVIC is currently seeking an experienced Industrial QA/QC Inspector for upcoming Turnaround work.

Position Summary

QA/QC Inspectors will test, sample and inspect raw materials, fabricated, machined, assembled structures, and industrial processes for quality, deviations, or defects according to specifications. This position will be inspecting welds and welding processes and other work as needed.

Qualification Highlights

  • Must have 3+ years’ experiences as a QC Inspector.
  • Must have 2 years’ experience as Foreman or above.
  • Must be able to Read blueprints, data, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications.
  • Must possess extensive knowledge of inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods and certification processes.
  • Must be able to meet all physical requirements.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

 Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blue prints, manuals, and specifications on gaskets, torque, bolts, etc.
  • Inspect, approve or reject welds according to specifications.
  • Inspect and test material installations, work for conformance to mechanical specifications.
  • Discard or reject products, materials, or equipment not meeting specifications.
  • Provide information regarding processes and specifications to welders, supervisors and other appropriate members.
  • Notify supervisors or other personnel of production problems.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Qualifications

  • Must have extensive knowledge of multiple types of welding processes, and the materials used for each processes.
  • Must have 3+ years’ experiences as a QC Inspector.
  • Must be familiar with piping equipment.
  • PT Cert required.
  • Must have knowledge of inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods and certification processes.
  • Must be a team player and have effective communication skill in dealing with co-workers and any other work related contacts.
  • Must have Extensive knowledge of the construction processes involved in heavy industrial construction.
  • Must be able to use problem solving skills and critical thinking to resolve and identify issues, including safety risks.
  • Must be willing to follow all company directives and safety procedures.
  • Must be able to work at heights.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Preferred Additional Qualification

  • Current Zachry/JVIC or Zachry/JVIC ROF’ed employee.
  • Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
  • Experience working as a QC inspector on industrial construction or maintenance projects.

Reports to Position

  • This position reports site QC manager.

Physical Requirements

  • Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting and lifting. 
  • Will talk and hear to communicate. 
  • Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, pull:  objects, materials, controls and tools with up to 70 ft-lbs of pressure. 
  • May be required to lift, carry and move up to 50lbs. 
  • Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, work off of platforms and man lifts, and may occasionally work out on an open structure using the appropriate fall protection requirements.
  • Must have good visual acuity and depth perception.
  • Must be able to work outside in the changing weather conditions including in the heat, cold, rain, and wind.
  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and leather work boots.
