Zachry is accepting applications for a Safety Facilitator position for a planned outage at the CGS facility in St. Johns, AZ.
Reports to the Site Safety Manager · Assists in monitoring safety and health compliance related to construction and maintenance on the project · Assists and conducts safety orientations for new employees · Assists and conducts substance abuse testing/screening of new hires, random, post-accident, and “for cause” employees · Monitors the site, working conditions, and employees for compliance with SOP’s, Work Instructions, rules and regulations · Take corrective action when unsafe conditions exist. These actions include but not limited to immediate correction, isolating and restricting the areas access until corrected, stopping all work as needed until condition is corrected and reporting conditions to appropriate supervisor along with recommended action · Observe behavior and actions of site workforce for unsafe acts, and taking immediate action to correct actions before an incident or accident occurs · Report all observations of unsafe conditions and acts verbally and written to management · Perform basic IH procedures and air monitoring · Explains safety policies and procedures to supervision and craft persons · Assists in conducting incident investigations, causal analysis and implementing corrective actions · Assists in completing regulatory reports, insurance forms and company safety reports as required · Assist with safety briefings, weekly meetings and TSA’s/Addendums · Responds to incidents providing emergency services as required · Administers first aid to employees with minor injuries · Assists in case management of employee injured on job · May perform or assist in issuing work permits by checking work area to insure a safe work environment · Interacts with Client HSE Department · May be required to perform occasional driving of motor vehicle on and off the project · May assist in the issuing and inspection of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) · May perform Respirator Fit-Testing utilizing the 3m Qualitative Fit Test procedure.
Must have working knowledge of OSHA 1910/1926 Standards and how to apply these to construction and industrial settings.
Must also be capable of learning and applying company and site safety rules to the work being performed.
Must be able to read and properly interpret complex documents to include but not limited to company safety policies, client safety documents, and documents explaining government requirements.
Must have good leadership’s skills and have the ability to work under difficult situations. This includes influencing others and dealing with conflict.
Must have good verbal and strong interpersonal relations skills.
Must be able to use problem solving skills and critical thinking to resolve and identify issues, including safety risks.
Must be able to perform basic functions on a computer to include but not limited to word processing and working with spreadsheets and possess good written skills.
Must be willing to follow all company directives and safety procedures.
Must pass pre-employment substance abuse screen and physical.
Must have reliable transportation.
Must pass client back ground check
Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’d employee - High School Diploma · Minimum 2-years of field experience in an industrial setting · 10-hour or 30-hour OSHA training ·NCCER Safety or BCSP certifications a plus · Basic Industrial Hygiene and SDS knowledge · First Aid/CPR/AED Certification current · Must be knowledgeable in basic paperwork and computer skills · Clean DMV record.
Will work in all weather conditions ranging from warm/hot – cool/cold, rain and snow · Will work at varying elevations with heights up to 100’ plus · Noise levels will be moderate to high · Job site will contain light to heavy equipment/vehicles, small to large operating industrial equipment, materials, and tools · Hazardous materials present in quantities at the site.
