PROJECT CONTROLS MANAGER        

Project Controls – Construction Services Department

Corpus Christi, TX

 

Zachry Group seeks a Project Controls Manager to manage the project scheduling, cost earned value, change control, revenue recognition, resource tracking and reporting processes for the assigned construction office.  In addition, the successful incumbent will provide a consistent framework for forecasting and reporting projects cost and progress, as well as evaluating actual results against those expected and insuring feedback incorporation to adjust work processes to improve future results.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage personnel and workload assigned to the Project Control group‎.  Manage development and implementation of project scheduling‎, ‎earned value‎, ‎forecasting and ‎ reporting processes‎. ‎Assist in project reporting as required‎.  ‎Oversee the selection and application of ‎ information technology and software to Project Control‎.  ‎Establish and apply organizational Project ‎ Control procedures‎, ‎methods and systems‎.‎
  • Monitor financial performance‎.  ‎Identify and communicate to site manager, ‎project control‎, ‎ senior management and corporate services situations that have the potential to materially affect ‎ overall company financial performance‎.  ‎ Provide support to business manager for  project revenue and income recognition and establish project reserves as appropriate.
  • Assist in marketing and business development‎, ‎preparation of proposals‎, ‎milestone schedules and estimating activities as ‎ required‎.‎
  • Manage development and implementation of overall resource scheduling and tracking system.
  • Provide guidance for team member assigned to various areas within the plant for the client support and planning services.
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned by management

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • List requirements and qualities that are essential for the positon and required to be considered for this position. Include soft skills such as communication, problem solving and personality traits that you envision for a successful hire.
  • Previous Planning experience in SAP or Maximo
  • Primavera P6 Scheduling experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • 5-7 years in Maintenance and/or Small Capital Planning and Estimating
  • Previous Management Experience
  • Effective Verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with client and site team
  • Leadership skills required for managing a large team and providing mentorship when required
  • Assuring compliance to project controls systems and processes within company systems as well as client system.
  • Avoid inflated or arbitrary qualifications; rather adhere to a listing of realistic and specific qualifications that are required of all employees in that position (i.e. Education).
  • Identify specific industry or department experience

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working knowledge and experience with:
    • Microsoft Access
    • Power BI
    • Earned Value system
    • CMIS (cost system)
    • Turnaround experience

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical ability to perform routine audits/visits of shop floor activities. Physical ability to perform bid informational job/site walks along with ability to climb ladders and stairs when required inside of industrial Oil/Chemical facilities. Additionally, may be asked to meet following physical demands standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and/or reaching. 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Working conditions infrequently involve some physical exertion, exposure to the elements or hazards inherent in the job which may include routine travel.  Work is primarily sedentary; exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
