Qualifications: Lean certification and experience required. Green Belt certification a plus. Degree preferred (Engineering, Construction Management, and other related degrees) but high school diploma or equivalent with 5 – 10 years of industry experience will be considered. Competency in Microsoft Excel required.
Basic Function: The basic function of this role is to:
Lead continuous improvement activities to eliminate defects and make work processes more efficient.
Use Lean tools to systematically improve and sustain performance.
Collaborate with Geismar functions, such as Continuous Improvement Team and Maintenance department, to support implementing improvements.
Encourage the Zachry employees to meet/exceed the SF goals of # ideas turned in.
Encourage the Zachry employees to meet/exceed the SF goals of Client Approved Savings.
Responsibilities: This function / role / position is responsible for the following:
Lead continuous improvement projects to meet site and organizational goals.
Provide updates on projects to BASF and Zachry leadership.
To give presentations at Zachry monthly Safety meetings to review approved ideas / award any items purchased by points from the SF Store.
Facilitate brainstorming sessions to promote involvement
To work with supervisors and craft to identify/recognize/document ideas
Go out in field and work with crews to find ideas and take the time to write it down.
Borrow Ideas from Other Sites (Use info from SF database to distribute to lunch rooms & break rooms)
Come up with inventive ways to increase participation (GET OUT OF THE BOX)
Communications with Zachry Site Manager and Client on approved savings.
Calculate savings of opportunities to present to client
