Field Quality Control Manager

 

ZACHRY is currently seeking an experienced Industrial Field QC Manager for new construction work at our Duke Cape Fear Beneficial Ash Project in Moncure, North Carolina.

 

Position Responsibility Summary:

Field QC Manger will Supervise/coordinate daily inspection activities of Inspection Personnel at Duke Cape Fear Power Station, interface with the Owners Team for notification of inspections and technical issues supervise oversight of Sub-Contractor activities. Implement the quality manual and Inspection Test Plan (ITP) for Direct Hire Construction Activities, and perform review of Sub-Contractor ITP. Manage Quality Activities for the quality control team; ensuring the team works accurately and effectively to produce a quality product that meets the customer’s expectations. Manage quality records, review daily QC inspection reports and RFI’s, and generate quality reports, and NCR’s.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must have Level I, Level II or Level III inspection certification(s) and/or 5 years of related experience

  • Must have 5+ years’ experiences as an inspector.

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Blue Beam

  • Must have basic knowledge of the construction processes involved in heavy industrial construction.

  • Must be able to use problem solving skills and critical thinking to resolve and identify issues, including safety risks.

  • Must be able to read and interpret blue prints, manuals, and specifications

  • Organizational capabilities to plan and schedule inspections and tests

  • Provide information regarding processes and specifications to craftsmen, supervisors and other appropriate members.

  • Generate Quality reports

  • Attend and lead meetings in regards to the assigned project

  • Will interact and coordinate efforts with contracted or internal/external inspection teams.

    Preferred Qualifications not required:

  • Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’ed employee.

  • Current CWI, CIP, ACI, NACE, and API certification(s)

  • Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.

     

    Reports to Position:

  • This position will be responsible for all craft QC Inspectors, site wide.

     

  • Physical Requirements

  • Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting.

  • Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull: objects, materials, controls and tools.

  • May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.

  • Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off of platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements.

  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing

    appropriate PPE.

     

  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat,

    safety glasses/spoggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel- toed work boots.

Required Tools:

  • Rain Coat

  • Rain Boots

     

  • Work environment:

  • Will work in all weather conditions ranging from warm/hot – cool/cold. Occasional rain.

  • Will work at different elevations.

  • May be required to work in close, confined spaces for a long period of time.

  • Noise levels will be moderate to high.
