General Description:  Candidates must be highly skilled in Standard Operating Procedure development with strong verbal and writing skills. In order to achieve the goals of the role, candidates must also have proven Mechanical Aptitude skills that specifically relate to manufacturing formulation and packaging equipment where these skills are commonly learned from working hands-on in a manufacturing environment.

Duration of Assignment:  24 months


  • Primary responsibilities are to collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to gather information on work processes and manufacturing equipment operation in order to produce Procedures within a pre-defined template.
  • The preferred candidate will be self -motivated and able to work independently and within a team to evaluate information from the Subject Matter Experts (SME) and transfer appropriately in prescribed form.
  • Must be able to distill complex information into clear, concise text, appropriate for the target audience.
  • Candidate will have the ability to evaluate mechanical and electromechanical systems to add additional information to the procedures as appropriate to describe total operation.
  • Candidate will have the ability to review process design information (P&IDs, interlock lists, process descriptions), perform field walk downs, and prepare field notes and perform routine calculations (tank volume, hydraulics, pump sizing, line sizing).


  • Preferred BSChE or BSME from accredited university.
  • Preferred candidates are local to Sparks GA or Valdosta GA or local to the broader region between Jacksonville FL, Tallahassee FL, and Atlanta GA.
  • Strong Mechanical aptitude with Industrial and Packaging Equipment in a previous hands-on position. Prefer candidates with experience interfacing with operators and programmers on automated production lines and packaging lines.  Experience with pumps, piping, bulk bag unloaders, automated packaging equipment, and robotic equipment is also a plus.
  • Highly Proficient with Microsoft Office particularly Word with ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures.
  • Strong writing and communication skills is a must with applicable experience.  The Candidate must possess an emphasis on attention to detail to deliver high quality documentation.  Strong Communication skills with ability to proactively work with partners and write policies and procedures for multiple departments under tight deadlines is essential.

Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat and software systems. Position may include visits to construction sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hardhat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and work boots.

Employee will work in multiple environments including an office, warehouse and in a trailer or building on construction sites. On construction sites, noise levels will be moderate to high. Job sites may contain the following: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling, and talking. Noise levels vary and may include bells, whistles, and alarms.
