Each year, Zachry Group joins with colleges and universities across the nation, to provide work experience that allows engineering students to apply classroom theories to the professional work environment. The Zachry Corporate Internship Program is currently seeking Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Industrial, and Mechanical Engineering students to fulfill numerous intern roles across the organization. 

For the summer of 2019, Zachry Group will offer design opportunities to interns at the following Zachry Engineering Corporation (ZEC) and Ambitech Engineering Corporation locations: Charlotte NC, Downers Grove IL, Houston TX, Omaha NE, and San Antonio TX. In addition to design roles, there will also be engineering opportunities for students in the following Zachry Industrial Incorporated (ZII) departments in San Antonio: Estimating, Execution Planning and Project Controls.

All interns will be responsible for routine engineering and construction tasks within their department and on assigned projects. In addition to gaining knowledge from daily tasks and projects, interns will also be given opportunities throughout the summer to develop their soft skills and take on leadership roles. Specifically, to conclude the program, interns will each be given the opportunity to showcase what they've learned over the summer during their final presentations. There will be formal and informal opportunities such as this throughout the summer, which will help prepare students for their professional careers.

Once applications are submitted on to our Zachry website, www.1800JobsUSA.com, initial interviews will take place from October 2018 - January 2019. Then, final selections for the Corporate Internship Program will be made no later than February 2019. 


  • Complete department tasks under the direction of an assigned supervisor
  • Perform discipline specific calculations and coding, as assigned
  • Assist technical service personnel in proper execution of drawings
  • Support discipline specific tasks for proposal work
  • Work on other miscellaneous projects, as assigned

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited Engineering Program
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in  Engineering
  • Graduating between December 2019 and May 2021
