Zachry Group is currently seeking an experienced manager for our Houston Engineering Office who will be responsible for the execution of all aspects of supervising the Civil/Structural department, including managing the department staff, providing strategic leadership, monitoring department budgets and schedules, evaluating department quality and directing the complete technical operations of the department. 

Responsibilities:

Balance work-loads, project priorities and setting group assignments. 

Developing project scope definitions, work-hour estimates and schedules.

Monitoring of department budgets, forecasts and productivity. 

Ensure that departmental conformance with company QA/QC policies and client standards.

Assist in marketing of department and company resources by preparing and participating in presentations on new and existing projects. 

Maintain appropriate staff levels, including recruiting new staff and training existing staff. 

Responsible for salary administration, performance evaluations, promotions, and career development of all department personnel.

Requirements:

The candidate must have a proven record of leadership, strong communication, administrative, and organizational skills as well as be capable of working in a self-directed capacity. Candidate must have strong management skills with the ability to mentor, lead, train and motivate employees.

Excellent interpersonal skills are required, as well as excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Ability to prioritize and distribute work to ensure completion of projects on schedule and within budget.

Interact with other departments and with clients to facilitate communication and efficiency between groups.

Mentor employees on engineering principles and problem resolution.

Oil & gas refinery or chemical plant experience.

Large and mid-cap project execution experience is required.

Experience with High Value Engineering Center work-sharing is preferred.

10 years minimum of engineering experience; 5 years in a management / supervisory role.

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field

P.E. registration in Texas
