The Business Manager position requires proficiency in all transactional business processes. Managers will confer with managerial or technical personnel, other departments, or contractors to resolve problems or to coordinate activities. They will provide staff with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems and in resolving escalated complaints or disputes. Managers will resolve issues related to business processes and/or address questions regarding policies and procedures. Successful Managers will manage and train staff to perform all required functions. Managers are expected to lead the work of others.


Work within the Project Business Services group requires employees to be team oriented with the ability to effectively communicate both within the group and with members of other internal and external groups. They must adhere to accounting standards, deadlines, and procedures, as well as the terms and conditions that govern their projects/locations. They should have a focus on systems use and systems enhancements.



  • Manage and evaluate work performance of staff in the execution of the business processes performed on the project (e.g., payroll, billings, and accounts payable/receivable).
  • Train staff on one or more of the business processes performed on the project.
  • Perform one or more of those business processes required on the project.
  • Establish required and requested reports for internal and external customers.
  • Examine or analyze budgets, accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
  • Coordinate and/or participate in the financial planning, forecasting and budgeting process on a project by utilizing relevant financial information.
  • Ensure setup of business processes in order to meet project contractual obligations.
  • Analyze internal processes and recommend procedural or policy changes to improve operational effectiveness.
  • Work closely with IT on problem recognition, resolutions, enhancements, testing, and data verification.
  • Other duties as assigned



  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Customer services experience
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Database/Accounting Software experience
  • Must be able to travel and / or relocate to long-term project assignment


  • 5 plus years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Current/Former Zachry Group Employee



Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat, and software systems.  Position may include visits to construction sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hardhat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and work boots.



Employee will work in multiple environments mainly a general office environment, and potentially a trailer or building on construction sites.  On construction sites, noise levels will be moderate to high. Project may contain the following: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling and talking. Noise levels vary and may include bells, whistles, and alarms.
